12-10 Newbury SPRINTER SACRE – MAX BET
What a horse, one of the best prospects we have seen for many years. He has such a high cruising speed and jumps well, he will not be beat, unless he falls, today and you can have a very sizable bet on him to win. The rest are not in the same class, Henderson could have a 1-2 with French Opera a good ew value bet for the forecast.

12-40 Newbury WHAT A FRIEND – 1pt EW
Look, Long Run is better than these, there is no dispute. The issue is, and they wont say it in the press or on TV, but an amateur is no where near as good as the professionals. They own the horse and can do what they want, BUT it doesn’t mean we have to back it. What A Friend is better at Newbury (look back to Denman’s second Hennessey) and here we have a very decent EW bet which pays first two places. Nice small alternative to the hot pot.
1-15 Newbury GET ME OUT OF HERE – 1pt EW
A great race here with some very decent types, Zarkandar and Darlan to name but a couple, but this old rogue has the ability. My angle here is that he has a new jockey on, and he takes 7lb off. It was a great run last time at Cheltenham, we cant take it too literally with Oscar Whiskey, BUT I genuinely think we have a big price play here. I may look a tit, BUT we are on a value bet, maybe!
1-50 Newbury COLOUR SQUADRON – 3 Points Win
Toughest race of the day. Three very closely rated rivals. I am going to rule out MONTBAZON, I honestly think Thornton is not yet race fit and that could be crucial. He may prove me wrong, this is investing and not a personal attack on Robert Thornton who is a highly regarded jockey. It comes down to the in form Longsdon horse, VULCANITE and COLOUR SQUADRON who you may recall cost us a bundle at Sandown when jerking. Luckily the rail goes all the way to the line at Newbury and I think Hobbs will have worked on him in the 41 days since that faithful day.
2-25 Newbury GULLINBURSTI, MAX BET **BET OF THE DAY**
This is by far the best bet of the day, at the prices. Certainly Lavelle has done nothing wrong with him and has a decent pilot in Noel Fehily today. I would say this one will not only win, but win impressively! Get on early!
2-55 Newbury FOR NON STOP 1pt Win
A decent race, a grade 1, but I would suggest this is not the best renewal of this event. I think For Non Stop is the best of these, but there is no great enthusiasm here and a modest bet on For Non Stop.
3-30 Newbury HOLD COURT, 2 Points EW
Big price play, mainly because of the Pipe horse, who may be special but at the price there are more if’s than definites. Hold Court looks very good and certainly is a decent EW price. I think the fav is over-rated (may be wrong ) but I like to think I know a good horse when I see one so Evan William’s (would be shorter if with a fashionable yard) Hold Court is the one here at an EW price.

The cold spell is no fun, to say the least. The lack of Jump Racing means we have to reply on the all-weather which isn’t as exciting and often of low quality, which is harder to profit from.

I can’t help thinking that for whatever reason, Big Buck’s hasn’t captured the imagination as some horses, like Kauto Star has, for what is an amazing feat of winning 15 on the spin!
Big Buck's Wins Yet Again!
You have to say that he is absolutely exceptional! Should Big Buck’s claim a record-breaking fourth Ladbrokes World Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, and he is only 1-2 for that (a good thing) then Big Buck’s will equal the mark of 16 set by Sir Ken back in the 1950s. This is a different time and he just effortlessly gets on with it, he is an amazing horse.
But unlike Kauto Star, he has not captured the wider imagination of the Sporting Public. Don’t get me wrong no one interested in horseracing doesn’t appreciate this horse, but the wider media barely mention Big Buck’s. I just think we are witness to some living legends in National Hunt racing, with Big Buck’s and Tony McCoy gracing the sport, we should enjoy it! As for the wider sporting public, well they don’t know what they are missing!
A couple of years ago at the Cheltenham Festival i was well down, on the Thursday the bookies got cocky and pushed out Big Buck’s, who had been 1-2 ante-post to evens, well i decided to have a proper bet, one of my biggest ever cash bets and it was the easiest money I have ever made! I was lucky enough to be in a box that day, working for the Sun Radio with Jon Gaunt and watched it from the best view point possible! What a horse, I love him!
The 3-2-1 System that we affectionately call the Ted Rogers System, although I stress (should I really need to?) that Ted Rogers is not involved in this at all!

I remember watching 3-2-1 which shows my age! I even perfected the 3-2-1 with the fingers, I think I must have been about 10 at the time.
So the 3-2-1 betting system how does it work, well its easy. Daily we have a maximum of SIX points made up of a 3 point bet, a 2 point bet and yes you guessed it a 1 point bet. There is no stipulation to have a bet in every category every day but bets are classified as either 3, 2 or 1 point. We have a reason and a criteria that dictates the classification, but we will keep that to ourselves.
We have launched this today free to members and we will proof it to them and see how it goes, BUT we have tested it and even in January, it has made a profit.
January and February are traditionally tough for punters, maybe the weather or the quality of racing, but if you can make it in January you can make it anytime!
